Physical or emotional infidelity, sex addiction, pornography, the secrets and lies of betrayal are traumatic. The road to recovery can seem relentless with many tolls to pay along the way. We want to provide an opportunity for you to take a well-deserved retreat for self-care in an environment where you can rest, recharge, and gather strength to continue your healing journey.
Noni is the primary counsellor at Affair Recovery Counselling, she is the author of a memoir co-written with her husband David, Beyond Betrayal 28 Years; Lies-Deceit-Infidelity . Her professional qualifications include completing Levels 1 & 2, Affairs, Trauma and Addiction–Gottman training, Level 2 Deceptive Sexual Trauma training with Dr Omar Minwalla, she is a certified partner specialist with the Association of Partners of Sex Addiction and Trauma Specialists completing Multi-Dimensional Partner Trauma Model Training, and has certification in Trauma Informed Coaching, Root Cause Therapy, and Embodied Processing with The Centre For Healing in Melbourne. She has also completed Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Training with Russ Harris.
Apart from the above, she is also just like you, a betrayed spouse.
At the beginning of 2019 she found herself lost, isolated and alone after discovering the secret sexual basement her partner of 28 years kept, she felt adrift, wondering who on earth could possibly understand this nightmare that became her reality.
Noni knows your pain and has called upon other brave women who have traversed the path to create this space especially for you.
This is an experiential opportunity to gather as a collective sisterhood, sharing a sacred space with others who truly “get” the pain, shame and trauma associated with living in the deceptive realm of their significant others sexual and relational acting out.
This is not therapy, it’s a loving embodied approach to assist in healing and help break away from the loneliness and isolation that is a by-product of being cheated on.
We’ll have time to share a little of each of our stories and we know that you’ll meet some of the most courageous and beautiful ladies which will only further validate that your partners horrendous choices had NOTHING—ZIP—NADA—ZERO—NOTHING AT ALL to do with you!
The only rules we have at SWSH is that you allow yourself permission to be loved, cared for and accepted just as you are and N.B. this is about connection and safety–there is absolutely no obligation to participate in any activities that don’t feel right for you!
